| ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a Senior CLS Supervisor to lead and supervise all technical activities of the UCLA Santa Monica Laboratory. You will serve as a core member of the management team, along with the Laboratory Manager to provide oversight for operations. Primary duties include: •Oversee day to day operational activities of the lab •Supervise and lead a team of laboratory staff (technicians and phlebotomists) •Develop and implement recommendations for change, ensuring that services meet the needs of all customers •Create a collaborative working environment and culture of continuous improvement •Participate in 24/7 on call rotation Qualifications•Current California Clinical Lab Scientist license •At least five years of recent CLS experience •Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology or a related field •Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise outside of normal working hours, including weekends and holidays •Must have management skills such as planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the work of others •Must have knowledge of testing methodologies and how laboratory tests can support diagnosis and therapy of patients •Knowledge of infection control practices and use of laboratory tests, including current knowledge of CAP, JCAHO, California State, CLIA, CLSI and Cal OSHA guidelines and regulations •Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
