Summary

The Registered Nurse / RN Step Down is responsible for identifying patient's needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning for and delegating care based on patient's needs, executing therapeutic physician or nurse initiated interventions, and evaluating the patient's response to care and progress towards outcomes. The Step Down Registered Nurse / RN is proficient in diagnosis related to cardiac functioning and the symptomology for the patient. Registered Nurse / RN are proficient in the interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias and instituting therapy based on physician orders, protocols, and policies.

Required Education/Licensing

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Current RN / Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida or eligible (confirmation from State Board) for licensure
• BSN preferred
• Current BLS card
• Current ACLS card
• Fundamental mathematics
• Verbal and written English skills
  

Required Work Related Experience

• Within 30 days of hire,Registered Nurse / RN must: complete general and nursing orientation, pass a written med test, demonstrate accuracy and ability in administering medications
• Within 90 days of hire, employee must: show proficiency of IV therapy skills, complete Telemetry Initial specific competencies per unit. Demonstrates basic dysrhythmia skills
