Summary
The Registered Nurse / RN Outpatient Surgery is to provide safe and effective patient care, through the performance of specific duties as the Surgical Technician in the Operating Room during surgical and other invasive procedures under the direction of a registered nurse. The Registered Nurse / RN performs routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment for all. The Registered Nurse / RN keeps current and operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment; assists with the ongoing Performance improvement Program. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends and holidays.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Education
Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved operating room technician program.

Experience
One or more years experience as an OR Surgical Technologist preferred for this Registered Nurse / RN Outpatient Surgery role

Required Certification / Licensure / Registration
American Heart Association BLS
For Certified Surgical Techs - Certification required
Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to unit
Ability to take call
